Gospel of Matthew 13:9-17 Message | Jesus Reveals the Secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven for You

" ... I'm coming out from my cages, I'm stepping down from my stages. I'm sick and tired of faking it! What I wouldn't give to be known ... " + "Cages"

Homily Prayer

"Patient God our Father, have mercy. Too often, we want the quick and easy answers to run with rather than the time to remain with You and experience Your presence. We want to be able to open the Bible and get quick solutions we’re looking for rather than sit with You in the divine mystery and trust our Savior will heal all our hurts in Your good timing. It is difficult for us to receive the gracious and generous gift of discipleship that requires patience and perseverance in Your Way, Truth, and Life, King Jesus. It takes time, safety, vulnerability, and Your power in the Gospel to begin to receive fully what You say and then respond in obedience and faith. We often hear and don’t listen. We often look and do not see. Forgive us when we are so impatient with You, when we just want to get on with it or we just settle for wisdom and truth on our terms. W e need You to heal us, Lord. Help us become more like Jesus by the power of Your Word and Spirit in every season of life. Graciously give to us faith, hope, and love that we may receive the Kingdom of heaven and commit to sharing it with others. We pray all these things with humility and hope in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen."

Call to Worship | Matthew 7:7-8

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.

God So Loved
We the Kingdom, 2020 A.D.

Come all you weary, come all you thirsty,
Come to the well that never runs dry.
Drink of the water, come and thirst no more.
Come all you sinners, come find His mercy.
Come to the table, He will satisfy.
Taste of His goodness, find what you're looking for …

For God so loved the world that He gave us
His one and only Son to save us!
Whoever believes in Him will live forever!

Bring all your failures, bring your addictions,.
Come lay them down at the foot of the cross.
Jesus is waiting there with open arms.
See His open arms! (Chorus …)

The power of hell forever defeated!
Now it is well, I'm walking in freedom
For God so loved, God so loved the world!

Praise God, praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Praise Him, praise Him for the wonders of His love!

Not in a Hurry
United Pursuit Music, 2017 A.D.

Lord, I don’t want to rush on ahead
In my own strength
When You’re right here. (Repeat)

I’m not in a hurry when it comes to Your Spirit,
When it comes to Your presence,
When it comes to Your voice.
I’m learning to listen, just to rest in Your nearness,
I’m starting to notice You are speaking.

Lord, I want to love like You,
I want to feel what You feel,
I want to see what You see.
(Repeat + Chorus 2x)

Open my eyes, I want to see You.
Open my ears, I want to hear You speak.
Tell me Your thoughts, what's on Your mind.
I’ll be Your friend, I want to see through Your eyes,
I want to see through Your eyes. (Chorus 2x)

The Kingdom Is Yours
Common Hymnal, 2017 A.D.

Blessed are the ones who do not bury
All the broken pieces of their heart.
Blessed are the tears of all the weary
Pouring like a sky of falling stars.

Blessed are the wounded ones in mourning,
Brave enough to show the Lord their scars.
Blessed are the hurts that are not hidden,
Open to the healing touch of God.

The Kingdom is Yours! The Kingdom is yours!
Hold on a little more, this is not the end.
Hope is in the Lord, keep your eyes on Him.

Blessed are the ones who walk in kindness
Even in the face of great abuse.
Blessed are the deeds that go unnoticed,
Serving with unguarded gratitude.

Blessed are the ones who fight for justice,
Longing for the coming day of peace.
Blessed is the soul that thirsts for righteousness,
Welcoming the last, the lost, the least. (Chorus)

Blessed are the ones who suffer violence
And still have strength to love their enemies.
Blessed is the faith of those who persevere.
Though they fall, they'll never know defeat.

Benediction based on Matthew 25:14-30

Go in the peace and power of Christ. Love and care for
one another and your neighbors in Jesus’ name, and may
God bless you with every gift needful for His work. May the
Spirit grant you the willingness to risk yourself completely
for the sake of the Gospel, and may hope and faith in Jesus
dwell richly within you until He makes all things new. Amen.
