Call to Worship Psalm 27:4

The Cross Made the Change
Common Hymnal, 2018 A.D.

When they saw Jesus, they saw a teenage mother,
They saw an unbelieving brother, just a man in poverty.
But when I see Jesus, I see the Sovereign and a Savior,
I see the Healer of the nations, I see the stone rolled away.

Nobody thought that this Son of sorrows
Would be broken for love to fix our tomorrows! ...
But it’s the cross that made the change,
It’s the cross that made the change.
And I’ll let everybody know,
That it’s the cross that made the change.

When they saw Jesus, they saw a rebel and a problem.
They did everything to stop Him, even put Him on a tree.
But I when see Jesus, I see the Sovereign and the Savior,
I see the Healer of the nations, I see the glory from Galilee.
(Chorus)

Now when we see Jesus, we become like Jesus!
When we know how He sees us, we will never be the same!

Nothing I Hold Onto
United Pursuit, 2010 A.D.

I lean not on my own understanding,
My life is in the hands of the Maker of Heaven. (Repeat)

I give it all to You, God, trusting that You'll make
Something beautiful out of me! (Repeat)

I will climb this mountain with my hands wide open,
There’s nothing I hold on to ... (Repeat)

Man of Sorrows
Hillsong, 2012 A.D.

Man of sorrows, Lamb of God, by His own betrayed;
The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid.
Silent as He stood accused, beaten mocked and scorned.
Bowing to the Father's will, He took a crown of thorns.

On that rugged cross, my salvation,
Where Your love poured out over me!
Now my soul cries out, "Hallelujah!
Praise and honor unto Thee!"

Sent of heaven God's own Son to purchase and redeem,
And reconcile the very ones who nailed Him to that tree. (Chorus)

Now my debt is paid, it is paid in full
By the precious blood that my Jesus spilled!
Now the curse of sin has no hold on me;
Whom the Son sets free oh, is free indeed! (Chorus)

See the stone is rolled away, behold the empty tomb.
Hallelujah! God be praised! He's risen from the grave! (Chorus)

Break Every Chain + Fill Me Up
T. Cobbs & W. Reagan, 2013 & 2015 A.D.

There is power in the name of Jesus (x3) ...
To break every chain, break every chain,
Break every chain!

All sufficient sacrifice,
So freely given, such a price
Bought My redemption,
Heaven's gates swing wide.

There's an army rising up (x3) ...
To break every chain, break every chain,
Break every chain!

You provide the fire, I'll provide the sacrifice.
You provide the Spirit, I will open up inside.

Fill me up, God (x3) ... Fill me up!

Love of God, overflow,
Permeate all my soul.

Fill me up until I overflow!
I want to run over, I want to run over!

Prayers of Confession + Assurance Based on Romans 5:20-6:7

Pass the Peace | In the Story of God, Jesus declared, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you" (John 14:26) during humanity's darkest, most tragic weekend of His death. And then after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, defeating evil and death, He said, "Peace be with you ... Receive the Holy Spirit" (John 20:21-22). Somehow, with Jesus, peace is possible even in our darkest moments. During this time, we desire to share with each other peace that passes understanding, empowered by the Spirit of Christ.

The peace of the Lord by always with you.

Benediction adapted from Isaiah 43:1-3

Do not be afraid, for Jesus has redeemed you; He has called you by your name, you are His through life, and death, and life after deah. When you go through the deepest waters and great trouble, He will be with you. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned; the flames will not consume you for He is yours, and you are His. For Jesus is the Lord, our God, our Savior. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Amen.
