Adventures in Saying Yes

I eventually realized I was praying for the wrong things. Instead of praying for an easier life, I should have been praying for a life full of God.

Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds (John 12:24). + Jesus

In my early days of following Jesus, I was kind of insular. I lived with a wall of protection around me just like a protective seed coat on an actual seed. I chose what I wanted to do rather than respond to what God was calling me to do. I gradually learned that sometimes I just had to dive in and not be afraid to get into things that appeared muddy to my own eyes. When you peer through God's lenses, you see that He makes all things beautiful.

Serving beyond my comfort zone caused me to cry out to God for His help, and when I did, I experienced and saw incredible miracles. His love poured into me in unbelievable ways. Stepping out in baby steps or giant leaps when responding to God's call started to crack open that protective seed coat, and my death to self started to happen.

I am so glad that God transformed my life and set me free from myself. I am thankful for my heritage, but it is just a sidenote compared to living as a daughter of the God of the universe. These days I feel less afraid, well loved, and freer, with more compassion for people who are hurting. Before, I was a happy, well-protected tiny seed just bouncing around doing my own thing. Now God's love and blessings are hard to contain, so I guess that's God at work, producing many seeds. As I allowed God to transform me and fill my heart with His love, my life began bearing fruit that lasted.

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil.
(For Thine is the Kingdom,
The power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.)

Salvation sounds a new beginning
As distant hearts begin believing.
Redemption's bid is unrelenting,
Your love goes onYour love goes on!

You carry us, carry us
When the world gives way!
You cover us, cover us
With Your endless grace!

Your love is relentless (x4)!

The time is up for chasing shadows,
You gave the world the Light to follow,
A hope that shines beyond tomorrow,
Your love goes onYour love goes on!
(Chorus)

Tearing through the veil of darkness,
Breaking every chain, You set us free!
Fighting for the furthest heart You gave
Your life for all to see!
You carry us, carry us
(Your love is relentless)!
You cover us, cover us
(Your love is relentless)!

There's nothing worth more
That could ever come close,
No thing can compare,
You're our living hope,
Your presence, Lord!

I've tasted and seen

Of the sweetest of loves,
When my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone,
Your presence, Lord!

Holy Spirit

You are welcome here,
Come flood this place
And fill the atmosphere.
Your glory God is
What our hearts long for,
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord.

Let us become
More aware of Your presence!
Let us experience
The glory of Your goodness!

Be Still My Soul
By Katharina von Schelge
1752 A.D.

Be still my soul,
The LORD is on your side.
Bear patiently the cross
Of grief or pain.
Leave to your God
To order and provide.
In every change,
He will remain.

Be still, my soul,
Your God will undertake
To guide the future,
As in ages past.

Your hope, your mind,
Your will let nothing shake;

All now mysterious shall be bright.

Be still, my soul,
The hour is hastening on

When we shall be
Forever with the Lord,

When disappointment,
Grief, and fear are gone,

Sorrow forgot, love's joys restored.

Be still my soul! (multiple times)
And praise Him! (multiple times)

No Longer Slaves
By Bethel Music
2015 A.D.

You unravel me with a melody,
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies
'Til all my fears are gone.

I'm no longer a slave to fear.
I am a child of God.
I'm no longer a slave to fear.
I am a child of God.

From my mothers womb,
You have chosen me.
Love has called my name.
I've been born again into Your family,
Your blood flows through my veins.

(Chorus)

Woah, Woah ...

You split the sea

So I could walk right through it!
My fears were drowned
In perfect love!
You rescued me
so I can stand and sing
"I am a child of God!"

Our World Belongs to God
Q&A 30

Q. What does the Holy Spirit
equip us to do in Jesus' name?

A. The Spirit gathers people from every tongue, tribe, and nation into the unity of the body of Christ.1

Anointed and sent by the Spirit, the Church is sent into the world, ambassadors of God’s peace, announcing forgiveness and reconciliation, proclaiming the Good News of grace.2

Going before us and with us, the Spirit convicts the world of sin and pleads the cause of Christ. Men, women, and children,
filled with the Spirit,
go next door and far away into science and art, media and marketplace—every area of life, pointing to the reign of God
with what they do and say.3

Benediction

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control. + 2 Timothy 1:7
