Anniversary | The Gift of 10 Years with Emmaus City Church

To be grateful
is to recognize the Love of God
in everything He has given us –
and He has given us everything.

Every breath we draw
is a gift of His love,
every moment of existence a grace,
for it brings with it
immense graces from Him.

Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted,
is never unresponsive, is constantly
awakening to new wonder
and to praise of the goodness of God.

Thoughts in Solitude

Beloved Emmaus City Church,

Look at the road Jesus has walked with us on these past ten years.
Whenever people ask me how our congregation is doing, my reply is often, “Jesus is always faithful to us, His Church. He’s the Master in our mess.” And what a wonderful masterpiece He is fashioning in you all in Worcester.

When I get to share about this special family He has brought together, I laugh, smile, tear up, and wonder. What a sacred gift you are to me.

I couldn’t have written this story.
And I don’t want to live in any other one.

God has blessed us to be a blessing
alongside many throughout Worcester,
including neighbors, strangers, strippers
medical residents, students, refugees
immigrants, orphans, widows, friends … family.

You all have certainly been friends, family, and a blessing to me. What a gracious honor it’s been to minister alongside you.

When the Spirit moved us to first come together, the theme verse for shaping our steps of faith, hope, and love was Romans 8:29: “For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, Jesus, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” We summed up this vision for Emmaus City Church:

Becoming more like Jesus together.

I think that God our Father has answered that prayer and vision for us as His children. We are becoming more like Jesus together.

“Thank You, God! Grace upon grace.
You’ve got this. Do it again.”

May God continue to answer this prayer and vision into our next decade of walking in step with His Spirit, being Jesus’ family of servants and witnesses together.

I love you all.

Next Anniversary Post:

May God's Kingdom come, His will be done.
Que le Royaume de Dieu vienne,
que sa volonté soit faite.

愿神的国降临,愿神的旨意成就。
Nguyện xin Nước Chúa đến, ý Ngài được nên.
Jesús nuestra Rey, venga Tu reino!

🙏💗🍞🍷👑🌅🌇

With anticipation and joy,

Rev. Mike “Sully” Sullivan
