The Story in Song Parts 13 and 14 | A City No Longer Forsaken and Love Shines

Emmaus City Church Story in Song 13 and 14 Worcester MA Acts 29
For a quick review, here are links to the previous posts in "The Story in Song" series.
Jesus can change us as individuals and as a community when He captures our hearts and we begin to obey His commands in word and deed. He turns our hearts inside out for those around us and we begin to live out of the great grace we have been given by sharing it with those we never thought we could love before.

When followers of Jesus resolve to posture themselves in service to the people in Worcester, we will begin to see (13) A City No Longer Forsaken. We can press on, giving glory to Jesus through our words and deeds, praying for the City of God to break through into the city of man in the homes of our neighbors. We will pray that in the lives of those who are broken, Jesus will bring forth the restoration and life only He can give.

Emmaus City Story in Song 13 Church Worcester MA Acts 29A brand new name, / Straight from the mouth of God, / The orphaned ones now take. / Through the waning years He preserves His own / In a city no longer forsaken. / How can we not clear the way / With such open grace? / How can we withhold our prayers / To the God who spares / All who seek His face? / A brand new land tilled / By His tender hand / The thorns and thistles break. / From the desert sand / The harvest comes / In a city no longer forsaken.

The only way we can see our city as no longer forsaken is when Christ’s (14) Love Shines in us and through us. We can do nothing apart from Him. He can do anything for our city and neighbors. And He has done everything for us.

Emmaus City Church Story in Song 14 Worcester MA Acts 29Amazing Love that sent His Son / To suffer in my stead. / The sinless King who died for me / When i deserved His death. / Yes, i deserved His death. / The Savior wept my every tear. / He groaned that i might sing. / My thorny crown upon His head, / My cross, His suffering. / Jesus, Glorious Risen One, / No grave could keep Him stayed. / And He who triumphed over death, / Now lives and leads my way. / He lives and leads my way. / Your love shines at Calvary. / Now we proclaim that Jesus reigns in victory. / From the cross, from the grave, / You rose victoriously. / Son of God, King of Love, / You reign victoriously.

When we clearly see the whole story of God, and how He has saved our lives and given us everything we could ever want or need, what is the possible response to this Love of God; WarriorPassover and Priest; Prophet and Sovereign King; New Song that we sing; the Shepherd and Prince of Peace; Lord over the galaxies, powers and principalities; Head of the family; Savior of all humanity; Perfect Innocent Martyr; Bread and Living Water; True image of the Father; Lamb led to slaughter; Anchor of our souls; Banner of our lives; Glorious Risen One; Son of God, King of Love?

Find out the end of this week as we close up Emmaus City Church's "The Story in Song" series with Parts 15 and 16.
