How do you know God is pursuing you? Jesus.
This post has been a long time coming. But perhaps I was delayed, not just because of my procrastination, but because Jesus knew I needed to read these words again right now. And perhaps you need to read them right now.
These are my notes from a session with Bob Goff, author of Love Does: Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World and all around Renaissance man who spoke at the Go Conference in Worcester this past winter on Saturday, February 18.
Make no mistake, many of the other plenary and workshop speakers were fantastic. But on that beautiful Saturday, God knew I needed to laugh and cry at what Bob said and receive the selection of quotes below.
It was like sitting and listening to an old friend and mentor who has lived a life passionately following Jesus and desires to give His life-giving Spirit's counsel, joy, and wisdom to you.
I can still hear his laughter and see his joy as I type this post ...

| 1 | Love Jesus.
+ How do you know God is pursuing you? Jesus (Luke 19:10).
+ Walking with Jesus is making yourself available (Matthew 4:19).
+ The banner of Jesus changes everything, not just a couple things (Revelation 21:5, 22:13).
+ I've tried to make faith easy, but if I read Jesus in the Scriptures correctly, it'll kill you (Mark 8:34-36; Colossians 3:3).
+ Your faith is everything you're willing to hang onto, and everything you're willing to let go (Mark 8:34-36).
+ Ask Jesus to show you where He's at work in the world around you. And then join Him (Matthew 6:33).
+ Don't worry about how you'll get there, just get there with Jesus (John 21:22).
| 2 | Love Others.
+ Be the Peshmerga in your neighborhood and places of influence: be those who confront death and defend the weak (Zechariah 12:8).
+ We can only change the world when we enter into another's world (John 1:14, 15:12).
+ Love isn't love if it doesn't require sacrifice and commitment (1 John 3:16).
+ Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down (Revelation 3:20-21). + Socrates
+ Love everybody always. And start with the people who creep you out. If you're not befriending hurting people, you're not following Jesus (Matthew 5:43-45; Luke 6:35).
+ Don't just call people family. Treat them like relatives (Ephesians 2:17-21; Luke 14:13-15).
+ We serve people up until the moment we tell them we're serving them. Then we're only serving ourselves (Matthew 6:3-4; Mark 10:45).
+ Don't tell people who they were. Tell them who they are in Jesus. Tell them who Jesus is transforming them into (Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:16-18).
+ Talk about people behind their backs, just talk about the right stuff (2 Corinthians 13:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Romans 12:8).
+ Burning people's ideas down doesn't make you right. It makes you an arsonist (James 1:19, 3:2-7).
+ Keep your faith simple and you'll see more (Matthew 18:3-4).
+ Sully
