Emmaus City Church Easter Double Album Ancient Hymns Worcester MA

Easter Double Album Part 1 | Ancient Hymns

Resurrection Sunday – April 20, 2014

Emmaus City Church desires to become more like Jesus together for the sake of the city of Worcester, Massachusetts. Because the Scriptures help us become more like Jesus – the Word of God Himself in how we read them, listen to them, speak them to each other, and return to them, we also greatly hymns and songs inspired by His words.

Previous Emmaus City series of posts featuring songs include:

We put together a collection of 28 ancient hymns and spiritual songs for this Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. These songs were compiled and burned to be shared with the those who join us. They include some of the verses and choruses that have shaped our first Sabbath services of worship as God’s family of missionary servants in Worcester.

We pray that they will help in continuing to transform our worship of King Jesus, as well as compel and inspire us to be led by His Spirit to be His sent church to those who have never heard or seen His gospel story resurrect and shape a life.

The lyrics range from words written in the 4th century to words written today, reminding us that we are connected to what God has been doing throughout all of human history – calling a people for Himself to be fruitful and multiply as we cultivate and bless the earth in His name, and are sent out in His image to serve with, sacrifice for, and share the love of God in Jesus’ name with every person we have the privilege to call our neighbor.
