Prayer I | With God as Father, we love each other as family
And,
“I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters,” says the
Lord Almighty. – 2 Corinthians 6:18
Reading: Matthew 6:9-13
Reading: Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven,
may Your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need,
and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
Questions:
How can we love each other as family?
How do we pursue others with love as if they're the lost children of God?
In what ways do people we know need the love that comes from a gracious God?

How deep the Father's love for us,
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
Behold the Man upon a cross,
I will not boast in anything
You Are God and You Are Good
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure?
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory!
To make a wretch His treasure?
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory!
My sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life;
I know that it is finished.
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life;
I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.
2014 A.D.
For the fatherless, we pray be the Father.
Let
those who lost their way be understood.
For
the widow and the broken
–
be the Lover who will hold them.
We
know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
For
those who mourn today, be the comfort,
And
who hunger after You, be satisfied.
You
bless the poor in spirit for heaven is their kingdom.
We
know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
Chorus
1
You
are God, You're the risen King.
You
are good, Lord of everything.
No
mountain, no valley could ever separate us
from
Your love.
You
are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that You are God and You are good.
As
we look upon Your Word, God give us vision.
Restore
us by the power of Your blood.
Come
now, Holy Spirit – when You whisper let us hear it.
We
know that You are God and You are good.
Yes, we know that you are God and you are good.
Yes, we know that you are God and you are good.
Bridge
So
come now in power!
And
let our chains be broken!
Pour
out Your Spirit!
Jesus, our hearts are open!
Jesus, our hearts are open!
Chorus
2
You
are God, You're the risen King!
You
are good, Lord of everything!
No
mountain, no valley could ever separate us!
No
power, no darkness, could ever stand between us!
No
mountain, no valley could ever separate us
from
Your love!
You
are God and You are good.
Prayer II | With God as Spirit, we seek out and serve others as missionaries
The Holy Spirit anointed, filled, led
and empowered Jesus for His mission for others, and He does the same for us as we continue in the mission of God as the body of
Christ.
Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you. … Receive the Holy Spirit.” – John 20:21-22
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, He called them to come to Him. And having called them, He gave them right standing with Himself. And having given them right standing, He gave them His glory. ... And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you. … Receive the Holy Spirit.” – John 20:21-22
Questions:
Who is the Spirit of God sending you to right now?
How are you trusting that He can accomplish Jesus' mission through you to declare and display the gospel?
What are your prayers for the people He is sending you to?
You
call me out upon the waters –
The
great unknown where feet may fail.
And
there I find You in the mystery,
In
oceans deep, my faith will stand.
Chorus
And
I will call upon Your name,
And
keep my eyes above the waves.
When
oceans rise
My
soul will rest in Your embrace
For
I am Yours and You are mine.
Your
grace abounds in deepest waters
Your
sovereign hand will be my guide
Where
feet may fail and fear surrounds me.
You've
never failed and You won't start now.
So
I will call upon Your name
And
keep my eyes above the waves.
When
oceans rise
My
soul will rest in Your embrace
For
I am Yours and You are mine.
Spirit
lead me where my trust is without borders!
Let
me walk upon the waters
Wherever
You would call me.
Take
me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And
my faith will be made stronger
In
the presence of my Savior.
(Chorus
Repeat)
2008 A.D.
“Your
strength shall return.”
Let me know my Savior’s face.
How great is my weakness.
Then I’ll
rejoice in my weakness
As I lean on
Your grace, as I lean on your grace.
Chorus
May Your power rest on me.
May Your power rest on me.
You are
strong when I am weak.
I can bear
all things when temptation springs
For You
sustain me all my days.
Let me know my Savior’s face.
Let my hope
be secure.
Then I’ll
rejoice in my weakness
As I lean on
Your grace, as I lean on your grace.
(Chorus Repeat)
(Chorus Repeat)
Once from the
Lord withdrawn
I thought
that I could live my life alone.
Leaving the
solid ground,
I sank beneath His wisdom.
I sank beneath His wisdom.
The harder I
tried to climb,
the closer I was to find
the closer I was to find
(Chorus Repeat)
Though the
trial still goes on,
Your grace will be my song!
For I can
bear all things when temptation springs
For You
sustain me all my days.
