" ...
No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is power of Christ in me. From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands our destiny! No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand 'til He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand." + "In Christ Alone" by Keith Getty + Stuart Townend

Sermon Scriptures | Isaiah 1:18; Psalm 46:10

Sermon Notes |

With Jesus, we can be all set.
+ Seeking value (redemption)? In Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7).
+ Seeking acceptance (justification)? Righteousness will be credited to us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification (Romans 4:24-25).
+ Seeking intimacy (union w/ Christ)? "I will be with you always to the end ... " (Matthew 28:20) ... Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
+ Seeking security (adoption)? For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” (Romans 8:15).
+ Seeking hope (new creation)? Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17) … Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth … (Romans 21:1)
Jesus' work in creation, redemption, and new creation are a beautiful work of art. And it's amazing how gracious and generous He is to include us in them all ...
With Jesus, we can truly be all set.
In accordance with state and national authorities, we will wait to return to the Fusion Center at 30 Tyler Prentice Road sometime later this spring or summer. In the meantime, we are still gathering every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. EST via Emmaus City Church Facebook Live. The liturgy with links to songs will be posted Saturday morning on our Facebook page beforehand. We would love for you to join with us! Also, you can contact us at info@emmauscitychurch.com.

Call to Worship Psalm 46:10

Christ Is Risen
Matt Maher, 2009 A.D.

Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame,
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us. Freely, You've bled for us.

Christ is risen from the dead,
Trampling over death by death!
Come awake, come awake,
Come and rise up from the grave!
Christ is risen from the dead,
We are one with Him again!
Come awake, come awake,
come and rise up from the grave!

Beneath the weight of all our sin,
You bowed to none but heaven's will.
No scheme of hell, no scoffer's crown,
No burden great can hold You down.
In strength You reign,
Forever let Your Church proclaim! (Chorus)

O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O Church, come stand in the light,
The glory of God has defeated the night!
O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O Church, come stand in the light, our God is not dead!
He's alive! He's alive! (Chorus

Chain Breaker
Zach Williams, 2016 A.D.

If you've been walking the same old road for miles and miles,
If you've been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies,
If you're trying to fill the same old holes inside,
There's a better life, there's a better life!

If you've got pain, He's a pain taker!
If you feel lost, He's a way maker!
If you need freedom or saving,
He's a prison-shaking Savior!
If you've got chains, He's a chain breaker!

We've all searched for the light of day in the dead of night.
We've all found ourselves worn out from the same old fight.
We've all run to things we know just ain't right,
But there's a better life, there's a better life! (Chorus)

If you believe it, if you receive it, if you can feel it,
Somebody testify! (Repeat + Chorus

White As Snow
Jon Foreman, 2008 A.D.

Have mercy on me, oh God,
According to Your unfailing love;
According to Your great compassion,
Blot out my transgressions. (Repeat)

Would You create in me a clean heart,
Oh God?
Restore in me the joy of Your salvation. (Repeat)

The sacrifices of our God
Are a broken and contrite heart.
Against You and You alone have I sinned.
(Repeat + Chorus)

Wash me white as snow and I will be made whole!
Wash me white as snow and I will be made whole!
Wash me white as snow and I will be made whole!
Wash me white as snow. (Chorus)

In Christ Alone
Keith Getty + Stuart Townend, 2001 A.D.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This Cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand!

In Christ alone who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
'Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied,
For every sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ I live!

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ!

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands our destiny!
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand!
'Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand!

Pass the Peace | In the Story of God, Jesus declared, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you" (John 14:26) during humanity's darkest, most tragic weekend of His death. And then after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, defeating evil and death, He said, "Peace be with you ... Receive the Holy Spirit" (John 20:21-22). Somehow, with Jesus, peace is possible even in our darkest moments. During this time, we desire to share with each other peace that passes understanding, empowered by the Spirit of Christ.

The peace of the Lord by always with you.

Benediction adapted from Isaiah 43:1-3

Do not be afraid, for Jesus has redeemed you; He has called you by your name, you are His through life, and death, and life after death. When you go through the deepest waters and great trouble, He will be with you. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned; the flames will not consume you. For Jesus is the Lord, our God, our Savior. He is risen! He is risen indeed! Amen.
